Wide overhangs were incorporated to address the hot sun from 830am to the noon. As louvers are positioned in the front facade, it catches the breezes that passes and channels it into the living and dining areas to exit on the rear openings while the second floor low walls allow air to circulate inside the house.

Located in Austery, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, the house boasts of an elegant finish which draws the family into the surrounding landscape. Concrete accents add to the interest in special places of the building.

Special care is given to position the sight lines such that the street may not see inside the bedrooms while the bedrooms provide unlimited view of the streets.

The concept of the design is based on the layers of clothing. The t-shirt is the windows and louver while the concrete is the outer coat. A special “tie” is placed at the center of 2 window-louver panels to bring visual balance to the whole composition.
